The 2009 Betfair Lifecycle Challenge, which was the 11th annual Lifecycle Challenge, finished yesterday afternoon at 18:00 Turkish time as the cyclists rode into Damascus.

The Lifecycle committee described this year’s challenge as one of the toughest, but one of the best yet.

We would like to thank the Maltese public for all the generous donations they have made so far, and encourage anyone who hasn’t donated to consider doing so if possible – the telephone numbers on the left are still in operation and will remain so as long as possible.

The Lifecycle Organisation’s HSBC and BOV donation account numbers are also given on the contact page.

Though the cycling has finished for this year, the work of the Renal Unit at Mater Dei Hospital never stops.

The Lifecyclists and backup team will arrive back in Malta Airport at 11:15am tomorrow, Thursday 20th August. Why not go along to welcome them home if you’re able to do so?

  • Founded in 1999, LifeCycle works to create awareness and raise funds and support for patients suffering from renal disease.

Our international cycling challenges are now well-known in Malta, and each year they raise a significant amount via sponsorship and private donations.
