Betfair’s partnership with the LifeCycle Organization started in 2009, when it sponsored the 2009 LifeCycle Challenge, in which 19 cyclists rode almost 2,000km from Istanbul to Damascus in 11 days, supported by an 18 strong backup team.
As title sponsor again in 2010, Betfair proposed a route to finish at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United, for whom Betfair are official partners. The journey started from Venice in Italy and Betfair not only provided valuable support but also 14 staff actually joined the challenge as cyclists!
For the 2011 challenge, Betfair have again accepted the role of title sponsor, and will be providing a significant cash donation as well as practical and logistical support.
