LifeCycle Challenge

33 cyclists : 1500 kms in 9 days from Malta to Assisi, Italy

A team of 33 amateur cyclists cycled from Malta to Assisi in Italy, a total of 1500km in just 8 days in order to raise money for life saving equipment for persons suffering from kidney failure. Only 27 completed the arduous challenge.

The endeavor resulted in the sum of LM24,161 being raised and the donation of 3 “Home Choice” machines worth LM4,000 each which allows patients the luxury of carrying out their own dialysis in their own home. The sum collected was used to buy and install a further 6 kidney machines at the Renal unit. This means that more patients can be treated at the same time.
