2011 Pre-visit under way

LifeCycle team members Gilbert Vassallo and Soner Gurelli arrived in Prague on Sunday afternoon and have started the important and hectic task of the pre-visit. The pre-visit, a week-long trip driving the challenge route, is vital to the success of each LifeCycle Challenge, and its primary purpose is to finalise the route, ensuring that it will challenge the cyclists but will not be impossible to complete. GPS is used to record every kilometre and detailed notes are made every step of the way. Its secondary purpose is to check each overnight accommodation that has been provisionally arranged by phone and email, making sure that it has the necessary facilities and has room for the entire team. The pre-visit is a challenge in its own way, with a very tight schedule and an even tighter budget, and yesterday Gilbert and Soner arrived in Zilina late in the evening with hardly time to eat and find where to sleep overnight.
